         PIC NIC THE STREET ! Reclaim the Street  !

We are still furious! We demand a liveable Brussels, now !

The 1st Giant Pic Nic at the Anspach Boulevard was a huge success. With this action over 3.000 people demanded more high quality public spaces in Brussels. They want a city with less space for cars, and more space to ride a bike, go for a walk, and hang out. Through bold interventions, like those in other European capitals, they hope to make Brussels a more liveable place.

This unique action in the heart of the European Capital attracted huge national and international media attention. Even Al Jazeera and some Chinese newspapers published articles and photos. A sample of this international coverage can be found here. 

We are still waiting for concrete actions or signals from the Brussels’ authorities. Therefore another disobedient picnic on the Anspach Boulevard will be held on Sunday, 24th of June, again from 12h until 14h.  We will continue until things change. The 3000 participants of the picnic will not tolerate any more delay. Individuals and organisations with a variety of backgrounds are summoned to join forces and to support this Second Giant Pic Nic.
